Our Arizona Vacation

At the end of March, the girls and I flew down to Arizona to spend a couple of weeks with my family.  First, not too sure what I was thinking when I decided to fly, by myself, with a 1 and 2 year old - however they did much better than I ever expected and didn't bother too many people on the flights.  It was very worth it. During our visit the girls had a great time.

We got to visit the Heritage Park Zoo a couple of different times.  I enjoyed walking around and the girls enjoyed looking at the animals... especially those chickens running around all over the place.

When we weren't out, the girls got to spend a lot of time playing with their two uncles, Shane (when he was home from school) and Adam.  They loved it!

And we visited the Phoenix Zoo - which I thought was just amazing!  It was a huge zoo, and we were all exhausted when we left, but it loved it!

The girls after the zoo... they were so tired!

We had a mini birthday celebration for Hannah's upcoming 3rd birthday.  Everyday since she tells me it's her birthday and she needs a birthday cake.

And we were even reminded of home and got a little bit of snow.

Happy 35 Months Hannah!

It is so hard to believe that in one short month, on Easter Sunday, Hannah will be 3 years old!
She is my sweet little girl that loves to snuggle.  Every day I am amazed by how wonderful she is.
These day she loves to count (she does it all by herself to 13) and loves to look at and identify letters (she's got them all down in capital letters, now we are working on little letters)
Hannah is very excited about starting preschool.  She was able to go for the 3 week summer session in June and then will start again next fall.

Hannah being silly

Hannah insisted she wasn't tired and didn't need a nap...

happy 18 months mia!

Mia ia 18 months old today!  I cannot believe in 6 months she is going to be 2!  I guess it's official, we no longer have a baby in the house!

Mia has changed a lot over the past couple of months.  Her vocabulary is really growing (although, I am probably the only one who can understand what she is saying).  She loves to have bows in her hair (she'll pat her head and say bow if she isn't wearing one) and say 'pretty' when it's in. If she cannot tell me verbally what she wants, she is great at telling me with actions - banging on the refrigerator door when she's thirsty, or climbing up in her booster seat by herself when she is hungry (as you may notice, this girl loves food). She loves to play with Hannah and since we put the playroom in the basement, if I haven't heard the girls in a while, I know they are down there.  They are both quite sneaky!  And since the weather has been getting nicer, she is wanting to go outside and swing.

Here are a few cute pictures from the past month...

She loves her diet coke (don't worry, the can is not open)

She is always playing with my cell phone (one of the few reasons why I never know where it is) and talking to Papa (Hi Papa!)

Swinging - a new favorite thing to do!

spring is near

I am not afraid to admit, that spring is probably my LEAST favorite season.  The mess that come with the warming temperatures after winter makes me wish we could skip right to summer...
However, finally being able to get outside without the snow gear was very nice and the girls really missed their 'tree house'...
and remembering that exciting gift the girls got for Christmas! Hannah, who is 2 going on 16, was driving around the back yard like a pro in no time!
And to see these huge smiles and to hear the cute giggles...
one thing is certain, spring is near!
