Family Picture

Yesterday, Hannah drew me a beautiful picture of our family.  She included everyone and, bonus, a rainbow above us all in the sky.  It just makes me smile!

another beautiful fall day

Wow, the weather has been pretty amazing.  We have been really lucky to have such warm weather that allows the girls to get outside.... all day... and sleep amazing at night! We decided to make this a great weekend to catch up on a lot of work that we have gotten behind on with our busy schedules.

We used the mower to get the leaves off the yard - so much easier than raking and so much fun for the girls.  Sweet little Mia would walk behind and follow when it wasn't her turn to ride.  It was super cute.

We really didn't get much done before the yard waste container was full.
So the girls would jump on them so we could squeeze in just a few more.
 That was super great fun.
And after work, we have time to play...  Check out Hannah's long hair as Dan 'threw' her into the leaf pile.
 And it's Mia's turn
Bella had a lot of fun playing in the leaves with Hannah and Mia
Once again, trying to get the girls to both smile for the camera at the same time... seems nearly impossible
 Such a pretty girl
And a picture of us girls! :o)

picture time!

The other day we were all outside, enjoying a wonderful fall day.  I thought it would be a great idea to try and take a nice picture of the girls with Bella.  Try being the key word there...
We got all the girls together... Bella didn't want to look at the camera and Mia just wanted to give Bella hugs.
Alright, we're getting closer... but lets stand up girls
Wait a second... Where did Mia go??!!
Oh, there she goes.... wanting to throw Bella's toy around
And we're back... Say cheese everyone...
oh Mia, that smile cracks me up!
Come on Bella, look at the camera... Girls, smile...
Wait, I haven't gotten a good picture yet!
Well, I guess that's it for our mini photo session... until next time I suppose  :o)

Happy Anniversary!

On October 15th, 2005 - Dan and I tied the knot.
Gosh, look how young and awesome we looked.
And the past 6 years has brought a lot.... but we got through all the tough times and enjoyed all the great times - not to mention we still look young and awesome. :o) We cannot wait to see what the next 6 years bring.  To celebrate, Dan and I thought it would be so fun to go down to my parent's house, do a little apple picking, leave the girls with my family and have a day of fun together.
Unfortunately, our day didn't quite happen like that....
Hannah and Mia were both sick.  They had been battling a cold all week and Saturday morning brought a very rough start.  So we spent the day watching the girls do a bit of this....
 And a little of this....
and a lot more of this...
By Sunday evening they must have gotten enough sleep, because all they wanted to do was play outside.  A great sign this illness will soon be leaving our home!
Although it wasn't the way we had planned to celebrate our anniversary, Dan and I wouldn't have traded the day for anything.  Yes, we hated seeing the girls so sick, but we got a day to do absolutely nothing, have lots and lots of snuggles with our babies, enjoy a little Chinese take out for dinner, watch a couple of great Disney movies and lots and lots of Dora and Diego, and just be a family.

Preschool Field Trip

Today Hannah had her first preschool field trip.  Whenever the school has field trips, the parents have to take them, so we made it a fun family afternoon at Heartland Farms on this cool and windy Friday afternoon.
Yep, we all went for a fun day... Can you see the enthusiasm here?
Don't worry, she woke right up once we arrived at the Farm and all her friends were running around and jumping in fun bouncy houses.
Dan got in the action as well, while I, as usual, sat back and took pictures. :o)

It really didn't take long for Mia to be done jumping around with all the big kids and we went to explore the farm and find pumpkins.  There were LOTS of pumpkins to be found. Mia picked out several for her and her sister that she insisted we take home... unfortunately, most of them will be going home with other families.
After our exploring we went on a hay ride with the rest of Hannah's preschool class.
Oh, don't let their faces fool you... they had a BLAST on the hay ride!
 Like this little smiling face...
After the hay ride we ventured over to the "Punkinator" to watch the teachers and a couple of dads shoot pumpkins at an old school bus or shoot them super high into the air.  Pretty sure the girls enjoyed this also...
except it was a little loud.  Hannah knew exactly how to take care of that problem...
Did I mention it was windy?!  Holy wind blown hair... should have listened to Hannah when she said she didn't want her picture taken.
Time for more fun and exploring around the farm... they have several really cute picture boards for everyone to take fun pictures.
And, some super adorable little animals to look at. Like these cute, adorable, fuzzy bunnies...
 and goats....
 little piglets...
and chickens... pretty sure by this time Hannah had lost interest in the animals and disappeared with her friends.
and finally this pony, who was too busy eating to say hi to the camera.  No worries, Mia still loved him.
And Hannah was found at the slides.
 weeeeee....
More pictures boards... Hannah decided she would fit in perfectly at the farm as a pumpkin...
Where Mia decided to be a witch...
Finally Hannah wanted to explore the pumpkins and discovered this super huge squash.
 and funny shaped squash
They enjoyed a little horse back riding...
and we finished the day with a little prayer and snack.
 yum, yum!
So. Much. Fun! We look forward to going back to Heartland Farm next fall... hopefully on a warmer, less windy day. :o)
