Project 365 - March 30, 2012

Why is this guy so happy?
Because he got a new toy today... a brand new riding lawn mower!

Picking lots and lots of beautiful flowers for Mommy.

Project 365 - March 28, 2012

Dan and the girls made another bird feeder for our little feathered friends.  On this not so windy day, several birds stopped by for a treat.  We put this one right by our big window in the living room.  The girls love to sit and watch all the different birds that visit.

Project 365 - March 27, 2012

Bella loves to chase the squirrels out of our yard, but today one went up the tree instead of leaving the yard.
She tried everything she could to try and make it leave,
But he looked pretty comfortable up there teasing our sweet Bella

Project 365 - March 26, 2012

Today Hannah come home from preschool with a magic wand.  Of course as soon as Mia saw it, she needed one too!  They had a lot of fun playing together - acting like princesses, making up magic spells and trying several times to turn Mommy into a frog.

Project 365 - March 25, 2012

Today we dusted off the bikes and finally took them out for the first time this year.  We're very blessed to live so close to the trails.  And look at that guy... pulling both girls in the trailer and keeping Bella - he is pretty amazing!
We attempted another fun chalk picture - a princess crown to go with the princess dress (which she didn't want to wear here)
We also had some fun with this old pizza box and made some Solar S'mores (another Pinterest idea).  It's not the same as making them over a camp fire, but Hannah loved it!
I also got the idea to make sun tea today - yum!
And once again, it was a day full of smiles!

Project 365 - March 24, 2012

Another beautiful day for us to enjoy this afternoon.  Hannah, once again in her princess dress, was on the search for worms in our front yard.  Hannah and Mia both carried the worms they found all around and built homes for them.  As long as they didn't ask me to play, I was just fine with it.
The girls have been asking almost every day to plant seeds, so we thought this year we would give a try at growing our garden using seeds, rather than buying plants. Hopefully it'll work for us. If not, we can always buy plants later.
And the girls were all smiles today - I love they are both such happy little girls

Project 365 - March 23, 2012

Thought I would do something sweet for my amazing husband and surprise him with a gift...
He is going to love it!  Although he might have to fight Hannah for it; she is pretty sure it belongs to her.

Project 365 - March 22, 2012

There are Mia's adorable little feet again.  Every day I am amazed at the the little ways God created her to make her so amazing.  I constantly think how much she looks like her daddy, and everyone seems to agree. But there are so many little personality traits that make her more like me - for example, she loves to be barefoot. No matter what we are doing - inside or out - we love to leave off our shoes and socks.

Project 365 - March 21, 2012

Today was a rainy day.  Mia still had to dress in style... she insisted on wearing her raincoat with flip flops, sunglasses (on upside down) and 3 bows. Love it.
And today was a big day for Hannah at preschool.  They got a new student in her class, and she was chosen to move up to be with the 'big kids'.  She was so excited and did amazing - she rarely talks about her time at school, but today was great - she told me all about her new cubby (where she puts her back back while at school), her new teacher, her new friends, her new snack table, and everything she learned about.
She is also in a 'wear the same princess dress' every day phase. She makes me smile.

Project 365 - March 20, 2012

Happy First Day of Spring!  Although it has felt like spring... most of the winter... we can finally say that it's here.  We were extra thankful for the rain we had over night to clean off our driveway and start all over with our chalk creations.  We were at it again with some silly balloon pictures...
This time both the girls wanted to be in the picture so we had a great big bunch of balloons.
And this one is our favorite.
Also today Mia felt like a princess in the dress she will be wearing in my brother's upcoming wedding... her little feet would not stop dancing.

Project 365 - March 19, 2012

Spring Break is over and Hannah went back to school today.  She was thrilled to be back with her friends... she misssed them all so much, especially her friend Kellen.

Project 365 - March 18, 2012

I think I am beginning to see a theme with my daily blog posts - beautiful weather and playing outside.  But it was not all play today.  We put the girls to work filling and hanging our hummingbird feeders.
Don't worry, we're more about fun and got right back to our new favorite activity - drawing on the driveway.  We were running low on chalk and I just *knew* we had some more somewhere...
Three closet searches later and this is what we found...
I am pretty sure we are set for the summer and I would not be surprised if I find more (I love end of summer sales)
And then finally a little time to relax with my babes... until we fell off.  Yep, ouch.
We love lazy Sundays.

Project 365 - March 17, 2012

We had a couple of little visitors surprise us this morning!  Briley and Joy made us a green breakfast... green pancakes, green scrambled eggs, green grapes, green kiwi and green milk.
Hannah was so happy to see her friends again.
Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us!  Have a great day!

Project 365 - March 16, 2012

Today was another, beautiful 80 degree day, so clearly we spent most of it outside.  The girls did slow down a bit this afternoon - they are getting a bit tired from all the fun we're having.

Today's "Shape of the Day" was the heart... it's kind of difficult to see, but Hannah was so proud, I had to take a picture.

And the sky was beautiful - I laid down on the drive way, my back covered with chalk, and took a picture.
I am hoping this great weather sticks around, but you just never know in Iowa. :)

Project 365 - March 15, 2012

Today Hannah practiced drawing triangles all over the driveway - where she could find room anyways.  It is getting pretty full.  We are going to need some rain soon to clear it off.
And today I captured one of my favorite moments.  Usually I don't have the camera close by and it is not something I can recreate...  every now and then, the girls will just hug. I love it.  It's such a blessing to see these sweet girls' love for each other.

Project 365 - March 14, 2012

Mia was one happy little girl today... we finally found her tricycle! Now she's able to keep up with her big sister who was riding her tricycle all over the driveway.
Mia also gave us a pretty good laugh after bath time.  She went to finish a snack at the dinner table, and fell asleep!  Poor thing is exhausted from all the time we are spending outside this week.

Project 365 - March 13, 2012

Since Hannah made pine cone bird feeders at a MOPS meeting a few weeks ago, it has become a regular activity at our house.  Thankfully, one of our neighbors has a lot of pine cones we can use.  Pretty soon the tree in the front yard will be full, which is great because we love watching all the birds.

Playing and having fun in the tree house

Project 365 - March 11, 2012

Today was another wonderful day and we spent most of it outside.  The girls are loving this spring weather and getting out all of their toys and playing in the back yard...
Today we played a little t-ball
And rode tricycles (Or has Hannah calls it, her beautiful bike)
and took a float around hanging onto a balloon
Dan made a couple of Pinterest projects I have saved for him
This table made out of pallets
 and a bird house
This is really cool - he used plexiglass on the back so we can see inside.
I think all of the fun we had this weekend finally wore out our little Miss Mia and she took a short nap in the wagon.
