Project 365 - June 28, 2012

I our busy, busy week is finally catching up to the little ones in our home.  Mia fell asleep eating her snack - with a hand full of goldfish pretzels.

 A very hot, 100 degree day means spending the evening at the pool!

These four littles had a blast jumping, splashing and swimming in the cool water. They were all very tired on the drive home; hopefully that means they will sleep well tonight!

With four kids in the house, I am noticing that time seems to go by just a little bit faster.  I try my best to keep them very busy, all day, so they will sleep well at night!  Their favorite place today was the tree house in the back yard.  They are all having so much fun together!

 Today the number of kids doubled in our home.  Our nephews Elijah and Micah are staying with us for a week.  Hannah and Mia are very excited to have their cousin here.  Hopefully we will have a ton of fun in the days to come.

 And Elijah was very, very excited to play in the tree house bed.  He snuck up there during the night to share it with Hannah.

Today was the Sturgis Falls parade

 We watched it with friends

 Mia snuggled with me when the loud fire truck drove by

 But she and Hannah loved the bands

 Afterwards, we went the park for lunch.  Mia loved to dance with the music

 The girls were very excited when they saw a train drive so and we were so close

 and we watched the BMX bikes.

 And for dinner, Hannah ordered the biggest corn dog we have ever seen.  Yummy!

Sturgis Falls weekend is here!  This afternoon the girls, my dad, my brother and I headed down the the park to check it out.

Our Popsicles were ready to eat on this, once again, very warm day.  Hannah and Mia helped me juice some fresh watermelon in our juicer to make these tasty treats.  Mmmm... Mmmm... They were yummy!  (Don't mind Mia, she's in a no clothes phase right now.)

Another very hot day means playing inside this afternoon.  We had lots of fun with baking soda and vinegar!  The girls drew fizzy pictures in baking soda with colored vinegar.  So. Much. Fun!

Today we went to Jordan's Nursery to find a new tree for our back yard.

 It took us a little while to decide what kind of tree we wanted... we do need some shade in the back, but we ended up falling in love with this apple tree.

 The girls could not wait to help plant it - especially Mia - this girl loves to play in the dirt!

 And in no time, she is covered in dirt from head to toe.

 Hannah, on the other hand, preferred to just water our new tree.

It is a little tree, so it will be a while before we get some fruit.  But we are so excited to have a new tree in our back yard!

Although today was Dan's birthday, he surprised me by taking me to the Des Moines Farmer's Market for the first time. It was ah-mazing! So many vendors selling everything you can think of, live music and so. many. people! Absolutely loved it and cannot wait until we're back to go again!

Today was another MOPS day at the park.  We love park days! 

Today it was just Mia and Mommy because Hannah was having fun at preschool.  We even got there extra early and had the park to ourselves!

Mia started the morning with the slides - peek-a-boo!

Today, out of the blue, I decided Mia needed a hair cut.  First hair cuts are very hard for me, they make me so sad!  But Mia hair was getting very long and sometimes very difficult to comb (mostly because she does not like it).  So, today was the day for Mia's First Hair Cut!  I cut Hannah's hair, so I thought I would attempt to cut hers too - but being a very wiggly two year old, it was cut a tiny bit shorter than this mommy would have liked.

Project 365 - June 9, 2012

Today we went to Adventure Land with Dan's family.

I think these two little faces are pretty excited!

 Hannah and Mia enjoyed all the child friendly rides at the park. Like the Tea Cups (above) and these adorable lady bugs.

 The Air Baloons - yeah, I didn't go on this ride...

 The four of us had a great time on the Bumper Cars

 And Hannah went on the Frog Hopper a few times.

Her face the first time on the ride was priceless.

 The second time time, she was all smiles and had fun with her cousin, Elijah

 And the third time they were joined by Sadie

 Hannah, Mia, Elijah and Micah also had fun on these motorcycles (in pink and purple - perfect for my sweet girls)

 And everyone drove the trucks

 Only to be followed by a short nap by the youngest cousins.  It was a busy, busy morning!

 Hannah had a blast in the water park - so many fun slides - perfect on this warm day

 and Airplanes.

 Hannah really enjoyed the train ride.  It was so relaxing after a long day at the park.
