Happy 7 Months Mia!

Today Mia is 7 Months Old
This month she has:
Finally started rolling over from her back to belly (one which I wasn't looking forward to, makes diaper changing a little difficult)
Scooting around - still not crawling, but close. Does an "inchworm" move to get around. (I got pretty excited when she came into the kitchen from the living room by herself)
Can sit up all by herself (if you missed the video - check it out!)
Last night she started trying to pull herself up to standing - she uses a basket that is about a foot tall - holding onto the sides of that she'll 'stand'. She can also get on her knees trying to reach what is on the couch.
Started rice cereal and baby food - so far she has tried (and dislikes) Cauliflower, Carrots, Green Beans, Banana, Apples and Pears.

Kitchen Update #2

This was a very productive weekend for getting work done on the kitchen. Our biggest job is refinishing the cupboards and in two days, we are about half way done. We had to start by taking off the cupboard doors, stripping, sanding and re-staining them. When those were done the guys got started on the cupboards inside the house. Thanks to Joshua’s (my brother) smart thinking, they made a plastic curtain to keep most of the dust from getting all over the kitchen and it keeps Hannah away from the work. But if only it would keep her out of the boxes full of everything we had in the cupboards.

All the cupboards and drawers in the garage waiting to be stripped...

This is Kaytlyn... she's been AWESOME helping us get this kitchen project going - she knows how to do it all. Pretty sure if it wasn't for her and Joshua, Dan and I would still be taking off the doors.

Break time... Hannah, Joshua and "Bongo" needed a little break....

Hannah watching Dan, Joshua and Seth sand....

The stain dried... and the doors look so nice compared to the orange they once where...
Well, for the next update this will be done and the new countertop will be installed! It's going to be amazing!

hannah's new blue car

or atleast that's what Hannah calls it! :)

Here is our new (to us) Ford Freestyle. I LOVE IT! We sold our car last August and patiently waited for God to provide the right car for our family. We knew we wanted one before June, but didn't really think it would take so long to find one. But here it is!

**this is for my Dad... who requested to see some pictures. :) We love you!**

Mia's new trick

Yesterday Mia decided she needed to start sitting up all by herself. It was the funniest thing to put her on the floor on her tummy, then before I know it she's sitting there like a big girl with a huge smile on her face. It seems like every day she is doing something new.

Kitchen Update #1

To our surprise, we got a little bit of free time the last couple of weeks and Dan was able to get started on the kitchen.

First our template for our counter top came in the mail so we had to make sure they would fit correctly. Thanks goodness they do this because one of the sides was too short! What a disaster that would have been.
Dan had to take off the backsplash and now our walls look pretty gross! :)
But on a happy note, Dan built the banquette (booth type seating if anyone was wondering). It's amazing! It still needs the tops attached, sanded and stained but we were able to use it for Easter dinner. It was SO NICE to have everyone sitting together at a table rather than on the couches in the living room.

However, we don't have a permanent table yet... Dan hopes to build one that fits with the banquette. So it's a folding table until then.
I think next on the list is refinishing the cupboards... sanding and restaining. It is not going to be fun, but it will be totally worth it in the end!

Happy Easter

We had a GREAT weekend! We had a chance to spend some time together as a family, which was nice since Dan has been so busy at work lately. Here are a few pictures from our weekend...

My parents (Mama and Papa) sent Hannah and Mia a surpise in the mail. A HUGE Easter coloring book and an Easter book. Here is Hannah coloring - one of her favorite things to do.

We (thanks to Freecycle) got Hannah a new swing set! It was rusty so we had to paint it - it's not the prettiest thing we've ever seen, but it makes our little girl pretty happy!

This year we colored eggs for the first time. Hannah was pretty confused by the colored water and would keep asking for juice. She loved to see the eggs change colors. She only dropped and broke one egg and by the end she had blue hands.

The Easter Bunny really spoiled Hannah this year and left a basket full of goodies! She went through it all before getting ready for church.

My brother, Joshua and his fiancee, Kaytlyn put on a mini Easter egg hunt for Hannah in the back yard. It was so fun! She would find the eggs and open each one immediatly... why wait?!

And the girls had matching outfits for the day. I love it!
It is always a challenge to get a picture of these two together.

"The death he died, he died to sin once and for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus."
Roman 6: 10-11
We love Easter!
Hallelujah - He is Risen!
