Today, Hannah turns 3!
It feels like yesterday she was born. On April 24th, 2008 (3 days past my due date) at 6:00 p.m she surprised us by breaking my water at the HyVee grocery store. The one trip we didn't think to pack the camera in the car with the rest of our luggage; we had to rush home to grab it (and change my clothes), then headed to the hospital. We called family and friends on the way to tell them our baby girl was on her way. We also passed my brother Joshua and (now his wife) Kaytlyn on the highway. Excited, nervous, anxious... are only a couple of words to describe how I was feeling as we were about to become parents to our first. She must have been as excited to meet her parents as well, because only a few short hours of labor, Hannah joined us at 10:41 p.m.
She is a true gift and an amazing blessing, I don't think it's possible to love her anymore. Every day, even on the roughest of days, we thank God for giving us such an amazing little girl.
Having a birthday on Easter, made for a very exciting and busy day!
Hannah started off the day by helping her daddy make cinnamon rolls. yummy!
And then learned how to wash the dishes
She got to open her birthday presents 'with' her Mama and Papa in Arizona (thanks to Skype)
She got this adorable Disney Belle's Tea Party set
(I am not sure what is with this face...)
And a tool set to help her Daddy around the house (she loves it!)
And a garden tool set to help Mommy with the Garden - she told everyone this is what she always wanted when she opened it. (Made her mommy feel good!)
Time for a little birthday cake - it had to be yellow, Hannah's favorite color!
And she blew out all 3 candles
And she picked out her own piece... maybe we should have given her a shorter name ;o)
And she ate only the frosting
And she got a new number 3 shirt, she wanted to show off for the camera
Dear Hannah,
We feel so lucky to have been chosen to be your parents. Thanks you for being so amazing and bringing joy to our lives every day. We hope to raise you just as God wants us to and you will become an amazing young woman someday. Just, don't grow up too fast.
Happy Birthday!
Love you forever and ever,
Mommy and Daddy
