Preschool Field Trip

Today Hannah had her first preschool field trip.  Whenever the school has field trips, the parents have to take them, so we made it a fun family afternoon at Heartland Farms on this cool and windy Friday afternoon.
Yep, we all went for a fun day... Can you see the enthusiasm here?
Don't worry, she woke right up once we arrived at the Farm and all her friends were running around and jumping in fun bouncy houses.
Dan got in the action as well, while I, as usual, sat back and took pictures. :o)

It really didn't take long for Mia to be done jumping around with all the big kids and we went to explore the farm and find pumpkins.  There were LOTS of pumpkins to be found. Mia picked out several for her and her sister that she insisted we take home... unfortunately, most of them will be going home with other families.
After our exploring we went on a hay ride with the rest of Hannah's preschool class.
Oh, don't let their faces fool you... they had a BLAST on the hay ride!
 Like this little smiling face...
After the hay ride we ventured over to the "Punkinator" to watch the teachers and a couple of dads shoot pumpkins at an old school bus or shoot them super high into the air.  Pretty sure the girls enjoyed this also...
except it was a little loud.  Hannah knew exactly how to take care of that problem...
Did I mention it was windy?!  Holy wind blown hair... should have listened to Hannah when she said she didn't want her picture taken.
Time for more fun and exploring around the farm... they have several really cute picture boards for everyone to take fun pictures.
And, some super adorable little animals to look at. Like these cute, adorable, fuzzy bunnies...
 and goats....
 little piglets...
and chickens... pretty sure by this time Hannah had lost interest in the animals and disappeared with her friends.
and finally this pony, who was too busy eating to say hi to the camera.  No worries, Mia still loved him.
And Hannah was found at the slides.
 weeeeee....
More pictures boards... Hannah decided she would fit in perfectly at the farm as a pumpkin...
Where Mia decided to be a witch...
Finally Hannah wanted to explore the pumpkins and discovered this super huge squash.
 and funny shaped squash
They enjoyed a little horse back riding...
and we finished the day with a little prayer and snack.
 yum, yum!
So. Much. Fun! We look forward to going back to Heartland Farm next fall... hopefully on a warmer, less windy day. :o)

Playing in the Leaves

There is so much fun to be had outside on these warm fall days.  The girls LOVE to play in the leaves.  On windy days, Hannah likes to watch out the window as the "trees are raining".

We cannot wait to get outside again to play!

Little Football Fans

Hannah and Mia love going to watch their Uncle Adam's football games on Friday nights.  We have been able to go to a couple of games, and thankfully the weather had been pretty nice for the games.
They are Adam's number one fans!  :o)

Lots of Fun at the Children's Museum

Last week the girls and I had a BLAST visiting with our friends in Coralville and exploring the Iowa Children's Museum.
Mia instantly fell in love with this tiny little turtle.  It was so cute.
They had so many rooms for kids to explore and play.  The first we went to was a grocery store.  The kids got to  walk around and fill up their shopping carts and then check out.

Another favorite was the pizza shop.  Hannah loved creating different pizzas and serving them to the mommies.

This is our friend, Landon... he's so goofy - really didn't want his picture taken.

There were lots of smiles in the music room.  The girls played different instruments and danced all around.

Here the girls got to discover gravity... the would race down slides and race golf balls to see how fast they would go.

And finally, the girls had a ton of fun playing in this airplane.

Hannah loved the hot air balloon... maybe someday she'll be able to go in a real one.
Hannah got pretty excited when she was able to get 2 balls to float in the air.

By the end of the first floor, the girls were exhausted (and so were the mommies!)  we didn't even get to explore the second floor of the museum.  But we still had a wonderful time! We cannot wait to go again!
