Adventureland

After a day at the state fair we took the girls to Adventureland.
Hannah and Dan on the Tea Cups
Mia and me on the Tea Cups
Hannah and Mia on the Tea Cups... Not sure why Hannah wouldn't smile, but Mia was having a great time!
Mia and me on the air balloon ride
(I didn't enjoy this ride at all!  I do not like being high in the air)
Hannah and Dan
There's a smile from Hannah!
Hannah on the Lady Bug ride
It was such a slow day Hannah got to ride all by herself... twice!
"Hi Mom!"

At the circus... This was Hannah favorite act.  Pretty sure she thought it was amazing she could swing so high!

Mia clapping (yes, it was VERY hot... poor Mia was so sweaty)

Cooling off at the water park

Hannah loved the water slides

Back to more rides... she got pretty excited she could "drive" a boat

And she loved the pink motor cycle!

Riding the bumper cars with Dan

We had such a great day!  It was hot, but the park was pretty slow we didn't have to wait in lines!  Hannah loved it, cannot wait to take her again next year!

Iowa State Fair

This summer we went to the Iowa State Fair.  I cannot remember the last time I was there.  On a hot Saturday we spend the afternoon looking at animals, eating delicious mini donuts, looking at the butter cow, and trying trying to find some air conditioning so we could get a break from the heat.  Hannah had so much fun looking at the animals and fell in love with the sheep.  She especially loved the sheep that wore coats.  :)

Mia taking a nap in the stroller.
Hannah loved this sheep.  She kept saying "sheep sleeping"  :)
Hannah thought this baby goat was cute.  She was afraid to pet him for a little bit - she kept petting the tip of his ear.
Mia wasn't afraid of the animals at all...
Looking at the baby ducks
So tired after a fun day. She looked so tiny in that king size bed at our hotel.

Mia- 11 Months old

This was a very exciting month for Mia
-Mia started walking!
-She got two more teeth
-Mia stopped using bottles and now only uses sippy cups.  (Mommy took those away the day she turned 10 months old since she was doing so well)
-Mia did her first sign language for "milk"  :)  and she is saying more and more words
-Mia went to her first baseball game! (pictures/blog to come later)
-Mia's personality is really starting to come through.  She is a very funny little girl... she loves to smile and laugh (except when I leave her with someone else, like in the church nursery)

I cannot believe in one short month, Mia will be 1!
I love this little girl!!

a horrible video...

... but it catches a very exciting moment!  Mia's starting to walk!!    Hannah is thrilled, as you can tell by her giggle and inability to stand still!

Right now  it's only a couple of steps here and there, but it won't be long before she's running around with her big sister.  Mia was pretty fascinated with this spoon that she just had to walk to it. :)

(And if you haven't figured it out by now, pants do not get worn very often at home... what can I say, it makes diaper changing easier and faster!)

Hannah is taking swim lessons

Hannah loves to be in the water, whether it's in the bath tub until her hands look like raisins or at the pool until she's exhausted, Dan and I thought she might have a lot of fun taking swimming lessons. Boy, where we right!  She loves it.  It took her a little while to get used to the idea of being in a class setting, she had to listen to a teacher rather than just being there to play like she is used to.  However, she has learned a lot in the past couple of weeks and made a couple of new friends in the process.  :)

Here are some videos of her in a couple of different classes.
(The quality might not be the best - we are completely zoomed in to record only Hannah {with either mommy or daddy} and not all of her classmates)

Video #1 - They play "motor boat" in the class.  Hannah loves it!  She sings the song all the way home after class.
"Motor boat, motor boat go so slow"
{blow little bubles into the water}
"Motor boat, motor boat go so fast"
{blow big bubbles into the water}
"Motor boat, motor boat run out of gas"
{the "boat sinks" and she goes under water}

Video #2 - Hannah practicing floating on her back.  This has been a stuggle for her since day one, but she is very, very slowly getting the hang of it.

Video #3 - Hannah decided this day she would go completely underwater all by herself!

Veggie Tales

Lately we have been watching a lot of Veggie Tales (Veggie Tales: The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's has been the favorite this week) and Hannah always gets SO EXCITED...

And every time she watches it, at the end there is a bunch of confetti that falls and Hannah says, "a mess!"
(Please ignore that she is in her underwear -we are potty training)
